Fruitfulness and Pruning

Bearing Fruit

VigneAs many will know, the area we live in is full of vineyards. A local wine producer told me that during harvest, his wine factory processes over 1000 tons of grapes per day – that’s a lot of grapes!

We give thanks to God for the fruitfulness we see in people’s lives around us:

– A lady, neighbour of a church member, who has found in Christ everything that she had been looking for for many yearsabricot

– A friend of ours in Calvisson, who has been through many struggles, health-wise, job-wise and relationship-wise, and is starting to turn to God for strength and hope

– A man in the village who had turned his back on faith, on God, and religion. But seeing how we are trying to live out our faith came along to a bible study and prayer meeting, and met with God.

– Others that are interested in beginning a discovery group through the Bible in September,

As we are looking to raise our boys, and inevitably disciplining them, our aim is to teach them obedience. So often, that is reflected back on us, though, and we are increasingly seeing God challenging us over obedience! About daring to step out and talk about Jesus; 6597730-hand-holding-pruning-shears-pruning-or-trimming-branches-from-a-tree-or-bushabout going the extra mile when someone needs time and attention; about rekindling our love for Him and a lifestyle of worship.

“Jesus said: “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. …  If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you”

So Lord, we ask for more fruit, more fruitfulness in us, even if that may mean some radical pruning!
